- Works under close supervision of the banquet supervisor or leader who provides specific instruction for task to be performed. Performance is observed while in progress to ensure compliance with instructions and established procedures.
- Performs routine duties of servicing banquets. This position is basically waiter work. Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages. Understanding of food sanitation, beverage handling, and food preparation.
- Stands, walks, and stoops and stretches, usually for long period of time, handling food and beverage trays and good containers, seldom weighing more than 40 pounds.
- Work primarily indoors in areas that usually have adequate light and ventilation. Danger of slipping on wet or polished floors. May occasionally work outdoors during seasonal functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
RequirementsConditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a medical examination.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
- Incumbent must be willing and able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to stand, walk, and stoop and stretch, for usually long periods of time. Handling food and beverage items possibly weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to work primarily indoors in areas that usually have adequate light and ventilation. Danger of slipping on wet or polished floors. May occasionally work outdoors during seasonal functions.
QualificationsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must meet the state/local age requirement (18 years) for the serving of alcoholic beverages.
- No prior training or work experience required.
- Applicants must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions.

FWS Allowances and Differentials
- This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
