- ACVIM Small Animal Internal Medicine certification (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) or ECVIM Small Animal Internal Medicine certification (European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine)
- Completion of a residency program in Veterinary Internal Medicine
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring interns and colleagues
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
