Job Description: Position InformationJob Title Strategic Engagement Program Manager (based out of Washington, DC)
Job DescriptionThe Strategic Engagement Manager supports the University in our nation’s capital and assists with relationship building and strategic outreach with senior-level policy officials, research agencies, decision-makers, and thought leaders in Washington, DC. In addition, the position supports faculty members, researchers, and students in communicating and advancing the impact-related goals of the many policy-focused departments, organizations, and programs across the University. The Strategic Engagement Manager also provides subject matter expertise on strategic communications efforts, working with University leadership to advance Notre Dame’s mission and priorities.Job duties will include:
- Serving as a senior representative and liaison between the University and federal government entities, supporting relationships with all relevant aspects of the federal government, as well as with key stakeholders and thought leaders in Washington, DC.
- Leading the University’s strategic engagement efforts in Washington, DC, including advising on outreach content, messages, objectives, and audiences.
- Supporting the planning and execution of University events and strategic outreach with DC stakeholders.

Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of research operations at a university and federal agencies
- Business development experience
Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills
- Capacity to understand and communicate technical information to a variety of stakeholders
- Initiative and curiosity to learn about new areas
- Experience working with federal agencies is a plus
- Familiarity with poverty research is a plus
