The successful candidate will be a contracts negotiator for highly dynamic hypersonic weapons programs. The role is responsible to manage, both independently and with a team, all day-to-day contract negotiation and administration across multiple contracts. The candidate will work closely with functional organizations (finance, pricing, program management, engineering, subcontracts, etc.), and must be a self-starter, willing to learn, demonstrate strategic thinking, and be able to effectively coordinate with multiple internal and external customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, researching complex issues and providing recommendations for resolution; developing risk assessments and mitigation plans; assisting the manager and program team on various assignments that require business acumen; and providing contractual guidance.Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Washington, D.C. and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Previous professional General Business or Project Management or Contract experience

Desired skills

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9+ years of professional experience; or 7+ years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Knowledge of various contract types
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR
  • Knowledge of DoD Contracting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently
