The Duck Company is looking for a motivated and hands-on Staff Accountant who is eager to contribute to our ambitious growth goals while maintaining high standards of financial integrity. This role involves preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, and implementing robust controls and budgets to minimize risk and uncover growth opportunities. This role works closely with the Controller.What you’ll do:
- Assist the Controller with month end close activities.
- Reconciliation of specific accounts and/or statements as needed.
- Maintenance, inspection, and monitoring of general ledger & accounts receivable/payable aging’s along with preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial statements.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist the Controller with annual and periodic budgeting and forecasting creation and revisions.
- Cash flow analysis and forecasting.
- Calculation of sales commissions.
- Process payroll and calculate payroll accruals.
- Preparation of documentation requests for our annual CPA, bank, state, and other audits.
- Recommend methods to enhance revenue, improve the cash cycle, enhance fiscal controls, reduce expenses, and improve procedures to capture efficiency gains.
- Perform specific financial planning and analysis projects as required including cost accounting studies.
- Periodically enter bills onto 3rd party EDI platform.
- Cross training within accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to act as a back-up when necessary.
- Other accounting/finance and project-specific activities as needed.

What you bring:
- 3-5 years minimum experience in full cycle accounting roles preferably within a manufacturing organization; public accounting experience is very desirable.
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of GAAP, state & federal tax law, budgeting/forecasting, and financial statement analysis.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with a high proficiency in Excel (ability to construct formulas including VLookup, XLookup, SumIf, and generation of pivot tables).
- SAP or similar ERP system experience highly desired.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication skills (written & verbal).
- Self-motivated, positive employee with a strong work ethic and willingness to be a part of a team.
- Ability to quickly learn internal systems, procedures, workflows, and technologies.

Salary: $70,000-80,000 depending on experienceIn accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above.
