Reports to: Clinical DirectorsJob SummaryCollaborative ABA Services, LLC is growing and looking to hire a part-time Speech and Language Pathologist at our Middletown Clinic. The position will provide the opportunity for growth and leadership as we are developing a new Speech and Language Program. The new Speech and Language Pathologist will work with our outstanding diverse interdisciplinary team. Collaborative ABA Services, LLC offers a variety of benefits to staff including but not limited to flexible schedules, monthly incentives, tuition discounts, childcare discounts, retirement accounts, medical, dental, and vision for eligible staff, mileage reimbursement, expense reimbursement and more!The Speech and Language Pathologist will provide 1:1 and group therapy services to patients and their families in the clinic and telehealth settings. Specific job duties are listed below:Job Duties

  • Provide comprehensive, ethical, and compassionate therapeutic services to children with Autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team in a supportive team-working environment for optimal client outcomes while including measurable improvement criteria.
  • Identify the need for and make referral to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the patient when appropriate.
  • Write and maintain confidential client case notes and reports, as well as information for clients, and other professionals.
  • Provide patients and families with appropriate information and materials necessary to support the learning process, (i.e., home exercise program sheets and instruction sheets).
  • Provide evaluation results, curriculum assessment, and comprehensive treatment plan including long and short-term goals, data collection methods, therapeutic interventions, and clinical and technical guidelines to families and team members.
  • Implement standardized tests for accurate diagnosis of communication disorders.
  • Participate in discharge planning.
  • Supervise SLP students and volunteers.
  • Review the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered per client to make appropriate recommendations to funding sources.
  • Build a strong Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) therapy program.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Connecticut.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children/adolescents with special needs including Autism as a Speech and Language Pathologist is preferred.
  • Enjoys working with children.
  • Must have reliable transportation and insurance.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to perform a variety of postures and motor movements which may include the ability to stoop, stand, reach, lift , pull, walk, push, grasp, hear, talk,see and use repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in working with children with special needs and behavior difficulties.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written or typed communication
  • Must be physically present at assigned job location in home, school, and community settings.
