• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Java application development, architecture, and deployment in cloud or containerized environments.
• Deep understanding of Java runtime environments, application servers (e.g., WebSphere Liberty, Apache Tomcat), and J2EE architectures.
• Hands-on experience with PCF/TAS/TKGI and OpenShift Container Platform, with a proven track record of successful migrations.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies, such as Docker, and orchestration tools, especially Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Helm for application packaging
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton, Harness).
• Strong experience in troubleshooting, profiling, and performance tuning of Java applications in a Kubernetes environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of Java applications from PCF/TAS/TKGI environments to OpenShift Container Platform using tools such as RedHat MTA and Konveyor Move2Kube
• Analyze, design, and implement solutions for migrating applications, taking into account application dependencies, performance requirements, and security standards.
• Help Optimize and refactor Java applications for containerized environments to improve scalability, performance, and reliability on OpenShift.
• Develop and utilize automation scripts and tools to streamline migration processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure consistency.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Platform, and Application Development teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and operational readiness of migrated applications.
• Conduct assessments, gather requirements, and provide guidance on best practices and industry standards for Java applications on OpenShift.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application dependencies, runtime errors, networking, and configuration management.
• Create and deliver technical documentation, migration plans, and post-migration support materials.
