Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the marketJob DescriptionIn this role, team members lead and perform internal controls testing & monitoring activities across compliance, operational, and financial reporting objectives. This is a great springboard opportunity to learn all about GE.The responsibilities vary based upon individual workplans but include a subset of the following:Execute SOx program including:Leading walkthroughs of business cycles, with external auditor, and assess the effectiveness of the processes and controls (Tests of Design)Lead scoping and risk assessment of assigned business processesDevelop, update or review in-scope process narratives, flowcharts, and control matricesExecute or review testing for various business processes in accordance with defined test attributes and guidance (Tests of Effectiveness)Monitor, follow up on the status of corrective action plans, and test the remediation of identified deficienciesWork directly with Controllers and control owners on identified deficiencies including leading impact analysis, formulating recommendations to mitigate identified deficiencies and improve control environmentLead various policy compliance project including account reconciliations and review of manual journal entries policyDefine and apply analytics to identify high risk events and transactions in support of continuous controls monitoringLead adhoc assessments and controllership or internal audit projectsIdentify areas for process improvement/simplification and assist business in implementationRequired QualificationsA Bachelor’s or master’s degree (in accounting, “STEM” Majors or Business Administration) is preferred3-5+ years of audit/SOx experience, external or internalDesired CharacteristicsLocation: Cincinnati, OHCPA, CISA or other professional certificationDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problemsAbility to document, plan, market, and execute programEstablished project management skillsAdditional InformationGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
