Responsibility * Development and support of advanced molecular tests for clinical applications that include molecular oncology and women’s health.

• Experimental design, execution, data collection and data analysis of molecular assays that utilize next generation sequencing (NGS) and other methodologies for analyzing DNA and RNA. These tasks require critical scientific thought, independent problem solving and excellent technical communication skills.
• Process improvement and technology development for existing and new molecular tests offered by Myriad Genetics. The successful candidate will have experience in molecular biology techniques that include DNA and RNA extraction, Next Generation Sequencing laboratory workflows, laboratory automation, and informatics analysis.
• Ensure good documentation practices for assay development, validation, quality assurance, technical investigations and operational support of molecular diagnostic tests in a highly regulated clinical laboratory environment.
• Maintain familiarity with the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications * Have a doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science.

• Have master’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science with 2+ years or relevant work experience.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science with 5+ years or relevant work experience.

Physical RequirementsLifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
