Job Description: Quality Control MicrobiologistW2 ContractSalary Range: $99,800 – $120,600 per yearLocation: Salt Lake City, UT – Onsite RoleDuties and Responsibilities:

• Author and review microbial SOPs, test methods, method qualification protocols, and reports.
• Perform method qualifications with biological product matrix.
• Manage third-party testing laboratories for microbial testing support.
• Support implementing and executing microbiological testing (bioburden and endotoxin) for facility environmental monitoring samples, biological product samples, and raw materials.
• Support the development and implementation of USP/EP methods for facility environmental samples and product samples.
• Support ‘on-floor’ operations such as investigations.
• Generate and review data and report/approve as required.
• Perform environmental sampling per scheduled frequency.
• Undertake facility environmental trend reporting.
• Review documentation for product disposition to generate CofAs and batch summary reports.
• Provide disposition recommendations and support investigations as required.
• Represent the facility as a microbiology subject matter expert.
• Work with accuracy, urgency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BS in Biology or Microbiology
• 5+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech Microbiology
• Familiarity with USP/EP test method qualifications and execution
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring and Method qualifications for microbial testing
• Knowledge of current USP/Ph. Eur./FDA/ISO/GMP standards and guidance
• Able to work independently
• Provide microbial strategy for product testing and lab operations.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Able to closely follow quality standards with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong collaboration skills
• Able to learn quickly, driven by high curiosity
• Physical requirements: must be able to put on specialized gowning, lift and manipulate items over 25 lbs, climb ladders, stand for multiple hours at a time
