Title of the Job: Manager of Village Services – Funds Development Coordinator

Location: Crossville, TN

Job Description: Position summary: Responsible for providing village services support to the residents of Uplands Village and acts as liaison between the Village residents and the President and CEO. Responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive not-for-profit development fund-raising program. Works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in the home. Promotes the residents’ psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building and works with the household team to meet other social service needs of the resident and of the household, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members. All tasks are performed in accordance with current standards, policies, guidelines and regulations and in a safe and efficient manner.Essential skill and experience:

  • Minimum of two-years experience in a secretarial and customer service position.
  • Two years of college or equivalent, and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical as required
  • Computer proficiency including Word and Excel
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical as required
  • Courtesy and professionalism in dealing with residents, visitors, and other personnel.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred skill and experience:

  • Minimum of five-years experience in an administrative position preferable.
  • Minimum five years of fundraising/development/communications administration experience.
  • Must execute development and related communications service in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, Non-Profit management, or fundraising related degree is preferred.

Reporting to this position: No Direct ReportsEssential Duties of Manager of Village Services: * Assist new residents moving into Independent Living (IL) home, condo, or apartment with anything needed in their move to Uplands such as setting up utilities, moving van, lifeline, post office or mailbox installed etc. as they move in or out.

  • Assist current residents who live within Independent Living (IL) home, condo, or apartment with anything needed in their move to Uplands such as setting up utilities, moving van, lifeline, post office or mailbox installed etc. as they move in or out.
  • Transfer IL rental residents gas, water & electric from their name to Uplands as they move from the apartment; transfer gas, water & electric from Uplands to the IL rental resident when they move in to an apartment
  • Manage issues with the Village residents
  • Act as liaison between the Village residents and the President and CEO
  • Attend the daily stand up health care meetings and report on behalf of the Village Services coordinating with the other departments when needed.
  • Communicate with Home Health in any needs of Village residents. Work with Assisted Living and Nursing Home when IL resident needs to transition to their level of care.
  • Coordinate orientation for new residents; give survey to find out how we are doing
  • Staff liaison on Assembly Council which may include invitations to neighborhood meetings
  • Arrange activity transportation to bus trips to concerts, playhouse, etc.
  • Get Disposal of Property release signed and arrange for Blue Barn to pick up items when resident vacates residence
  • Update, copy and restock new resident’s applications and welcome packets as needed.
  • Updates and reprints the residents’ rosters, i.e. Membership, Telephone, Fletcher and Wharton as needed
  • Maintain and operate the AVA Communication System.
  • Organizes resident files, general operational files and organizes webinars and recordings for Village and staff meetings
  • Coordinate and distribute the Uplands Update
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by President and CEO

Essential Duties of Funds Development Coordinator: * Responsible for preparing grants, capital campaigns, annual and semi-annual appeals for benevolent funds etc., selling annuities and annual fundraising campaigns.

  • Work Closely with the Funds Development Committee to establish a strong donor program.
  • Maximize as many opportunities as possible for the local public relations to include stories of life and activities at Uplands Village; new construction; news articles of individual Member and staff activities, promotions, etc; information about Uplands Members participation in all volunteer activities; etc.
  • Identify, define, and acquire funding resources available to Uplands.
  • Develop strategies for and coordinate all fund-raising activities of Uplands in keeping with the organization’s goals.
  • Coordinates with Director of Marketing to organize and develop specific customer and/or public relations programs determining organization presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.
  • Aggressively seek new organization funding sources and maintain relationships with current/past donors. Represent Uplands or select appropriate staff or residents in meetings with potential funding sources.
  • Responsible for maintaining close working relationships with all stakeholders and the active, ongoing, and smooth functioning of all stakeholders as the organization seeks to increase funding for Uplands.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by President and CEO.

Essential Expectations: * Fully understand all aspects of residents’ rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Responsible for reporting incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents’ rights, following abuse procedure.

  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment. Complying with HIPAA- Privacy Rule regulations.
  • Must execute Village Services in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Must coordinate with all departments to ensure effective standards.
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
