Do not hesitate-submit your application today and take the first step towards making a meaningful difference!DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe employee demonstrates proficiency in analyzing and addressing intricate hydrogeologic challenges, effectively communicating findings to the Chiefs of the Corrective Action, Special Projects, or HSCA Section. Their work frequently entails independent planning, designing, executing, and assessing groundwater investigation initiatives.In this role, the employee engages in professional hydrogeologic tasks that encompass the examination, mapping, conservation, utilization, safeguarding, or remediation of hydrogeologic resources. The position necessitates travel to various sites to conduct studies or investigations that involve the collection, organization, evaluation, and interpretation of hydrogeologic data, with results presented in both graphical and narrative formats.The responsibilities also include applying standard geological principles and interpreting maps, aerial photographs, remote sensing images, and relevant scientific literature. The employee prepares comprehensive hydrogeologic reports, enhanced with maps, charts, and other visual aids, ensuring clarity for a diverse audience of scientists and non-scientists to facilitate informed agency decision-making. Additionally, they gather, compile, and analyze a variety of data sources, including written and oral reports, maps, photographs, remote sensing images, and subsurface hydrogeologic information such as geophysical well logs, water measurements, core samples, well driller logs, and water quality assessments.Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,678 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
- This position requires the possession of an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
