Job Description: Overview:Instruct and implement lesson plans in the specific sport being taught as scheduled by the Director. Organize area in which safety and overall appearance works well with the specific sport being coached. Organize groups of participants through different drills and activities, making sure the overall program runs smoothly, including starting and ending according to schedules made by the Director. Clinic Instructor must have significant knowledge of the sport and/or experience coaching or playing sports in order to advise participants and coaches. Be able to organize groups of people effectively as well as know how to break down a skill and explain it so that participants can understand and perform the skill. - Must have a high-level knowledge and understanding of the rules for specific sport/program
- Assists in the preparation of programs as assigned by Program Director(s)
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate and teach skills and drills to participants of all ages and abilities
- Communicates important information regarding the YMCA and youth sports to all participants and parents
- Handle onsite issues and concerns in an appropriate manner and communicating relevant information to the Program Director(s)
- Represents the YMCA in a professional manner at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Certifications: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen
- Sports or ice knowledge/experience. Maintains applicable sport certifications as necessary (through the Y or other licensing agencies)
