Accept ClosePress Tab to Move to Skip to Content LinkSearch JobsJob DescriptionJob Title: Geologist II – Delaware BasinReq Id: 12174Posting Start Date: 10/28/24Work Type – Position: HybridSpecific ResponsibilitiesThe Geologist II, Delaware Basin, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Geoscience group and will be responsible for reservoir characterization and field development. The Geologist II will be primarily working within a team of development geologists to further develop Apache’s acreage within the basin alongside professionals across multiple disciplines including reservoir & completions engineers. This position is Houston-based reporting directly to the Delaware Basin Geoscience Manager.This role will be primarily responsible for geoscience support, reservoir characterization and field development planning including:

• Integrating geophysics, petrophsyics, and other reservoir characterization methodology to further identify and mature development opportunities.
• Working to understand geologic controls on reservoir quality.
• Manipulation of static geologic models with the guidance of more senior team members.
• Providing development scenarios on a bench-by-bench basis for all potential exploitation targets within your area of interest.
• Working collaboratively in a cross-functional team including Land, Reservoir and Completions Engineering, and Drilling.

Qualifications & ExperienceThe successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• MSc in a Geoscience-related field.
• 5-10 years of industry experience.
• Unconventional Geologic Operations preferred.
• Well Log Interpretation.
• Integration of Seismic Interpretation & Petrophysical Evaluation.
• Experience in Permian Basin unconventional plays.
• Experience with the following software applications is preferred: Petrel (proficient), Kingdom, Geographix, Petra, ArcGIS.
• Exposure to geocellular modeling.
• Exposure to geomechanics.
• Exposure to seismic interpretation.
• Exposure to data analytics, machine learnings, and uncertainty analysis.
• Exposure to Petroleum Systems Evaluation.
