Job Description: Position DescriptionThe City of Seattle is seeking an experienced Tire Professional to support a wide variety of essential equipment for the City of Seattle. The successful candidate will be ready and willing to work on whatever is in need – from a fire truck to a police car to a crane. Because an emergency can happen at any time, this position may require weekend and evening paid on-call duty flat tire support. You are encouraged to apply if you have any light or heavy-duty tire experience, additional training will be provided. After 6 months, you will be eligible for additional specialized training including an opportunity to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).ABOUT US

  • Perform mobile equipment breakdown support, such as jump starts and tire replacement
  • Mount and dismount tires for light and heavy-duty equipment in the shop
  • Shuttle and road test light and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Participate in daily crew meetings to share information and assignments
  • Clearly and completely write work order notes, accurately record time
  • Complete assigned training to remain current with technology
  • Participate in collaborative tasks and projects
  • Other duties as assigned

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Minimum 1 year of experience including but not limited to:

  • Tire replacement &/or repair
  • Jump starts.
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License and Acceptable Driver’s abstract
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a CDL.
  • The ability and/or experience to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather.
  • The ability to occasionally be on-call on assigned evenings, weekends, and holidays.

(Or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class.)The most successful candidates will possess the following:

  • CDL Class A or B endorsement
  • Prior heavy-duty tire experience
  • Heavy equipment operation experience &/or training
  • General towing experience
  • On-the-job experience running heavy equipment such as cranes, hydraulics, etc
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using electronic work order management software, such as CDK or Fleet Anywhere
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • This position requires full-time onsite work.

The salary figures presented are based on the 2024 scale, incorporating the latest contractual agreements that account for cost of living and market rate adjustments. For the Equipment Servicer category, the hourly wage in 2024 will range from $32.13 – $34.67 Hourly.This position is FLSA non-exempt (eligible for overtime).Application Process
