Title of the Job: Director Payroll

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Job Description: Overview:Director will be responsible for the Payroll functions for all entities within Novant as well as coordination of Joint Venture arrangements. Timely and accurate payment to team members. Responsible for timely and accurate payment of team members in compliance with corporate policy. Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls. Coordination with HR for time scheduling set-up or modifications to assure appropriate interface with payroll. Optimize automation opportunities for processing requests for payments. Maintenance of payroll mapping to the general ledger, timely filing and payment of payroll taxes as well as team member payroll question support. Complete the annual W-2 process, and coordinate with JV outsourced payroll to assure W-2 for all team members are completed timely and accurately. Management of the Novant Health Employee Expense Reimburse technology and reimbursement processing. Review and creation of payroll policies and procedures. Qualifications:Education: Four years Bachelors Degree required. Degree in accounting, business or finance. Graduate Degree and/or Certified Public Accountant preferred.Experience: Minimum of ten years of experience in Payroll required. Experience in a supervisory capacity and the ability to direct and develop others required.Licensure/Certification: CPA preferred.Additional Skills/Requirements required: Must possess excellent communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of staff, management, and senior officers of the company, as well as with various external customers of the company such as independent auditors, consultants, third party administrators, vendors, tax authorities and attorneys. Must have superior interpersonal skills and exhibit patience and a positive attitude. Must have very good organizational skills and the ability to concurrently manage multiple projects.
