Job Description: Qualifications:Possess a valid FL driverslicense with a clean driving record.High School Diploma or GED.Minimal computer operationskills.Familiar with the Villagescommunity geography.Knowledge of Microsoft Outlookand mobile phone applications.Responsibilities:The work below isrepresentative of the scope of work performed within this job classification.Individual job duties will vary based on work assignment.Accurately read and recordmeter readings on an assigned route.Install or assist with meterand box installation.Inspects meters andconnections for defect or damage. Repair Leaks and broken lines. Reportsirregularities to Lead.Report meter locations thatare hazardous or difficult to read or maintain to Lead so that condition can beremedied.Rechecks readings when therehave been complaints of readings that appear to be inaccurate.Explains and interpretsunusual readings to customer.Responds to customer inquiriesand complaints and refers, when necessary, to other appropriate staff.Turns water meters on and off.Performs other related work asdirected, such as painting, valve turning, water line flushing, water samplecollection.Adheres to district safetypractices and procedures.Documents safety hazards suchas broken lids, raised or lowered boxes, damaged, scratched, fogged, or brokenlenses, and removed meter heads.Other duties as assigned.Working Conditions/PhysicalRequirements:Work is performed in a dynamicenvironment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changinggoals, priorities, and needs. Some areas can have air borne particles, noxiousgases, pathogens, and various chemicals. The use of appropriate safetyequipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.The essential duties of thisclassification are performed both outdoors under various climatic andgeographic conditions and in acontrolled-temperature office environment requiring the ability to:use telephone, mobile radio,and computer keyboard; use feet and hands to safely and effectively operate a vehicle;repeatedly get in and out of a vehicle or golf cart; climb, kneel, bend,crouch, and/or crawl to read meters; stand and walk for extended periods oftime; clearly see to read meters, identify figures and detect different colorson meter dials and door hangers; hear and communicate verbally with co-workersand customers; maintain body equilibrium while walking standing or crouching onnarrow and slippery surfaces or up and down hills; extend hands and arms in anydirection; push with upper extremities to exert steady force to thrust objectsforward, downward or outward; use upper extremities to exert force to draw,drag, haul or tug objects in sustained motion; use finger dexterity to recordmeter readings; grasp objects with fingers and palm of hand; sense attributesof objects by touching with skin and particularly fingertips; frequently liftand maneuver meter covers weighing up to 20 pounds andoccasionally up to fifty-fivepounds.Comments/Special Instructions:We are ready to interview andonboard new hires with a conditional start, pending clearance with the drugscreening.
