Job Description: POSITION SUMMARYIt’s My Park (IMP) is our signature volunteer program engaging tens of thousands of volunteers each year in hands-on beautification projects throughout our city’s neighborhood parks. It is both a resource for community partners and a service for corporate groups to revitalize local green spaces through cleaning, painting, and gardening, while simultaneously donating money to fund all of City Parks Foundation programs. Corporations support Partnerships for Parks and City Parks Foundation by making a donation to the program in exchange for their participation.The Manager oversees the development and execution of corporate volunteer projects and engagement opportunities. This will include managing site identification, supply purchasing, project logistics, reporting, and staffing plans, as well as collaborating closely with the Corporate Partnerships Associate to support the coordination of initiatives including, but not limited to, client cultivation and services, data collection, and corporate communication to increase the corporate volunteer participation and portfolio. The Manager will foster collaborative relationships among corporate volunteers, Parks staff, and community members and ensure the successful completion of an expected 130 service projects annually. This position reports to the Partnerships for Parks Volunteer Program Director and supervises two coordinators and seasonal staff. The role will collaborate with and work closely with the CPF Corporate Partnerships team.COMPENSATION: 60 – 70K per yearRESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the leadership of the Partnerships for Parks Volunteer Program director, manage daily operations and program planning for the corporate volunteer program
- Supervise corporate engagement coordinators and seasonal associates including regular check-ins, employee evaluations, professional development, work assignments, and troubleshooting support
- Coordinate client needs on behalf of CPF Corporate Partnerships team by assisting with the cultivation and implementation of new and existing corporate partners to grow and sustain their participation in the citywide It’s My Park (IMP) corporate volunteer program, including client services, data collection, communication, and donor engagement opportunities
- Maintain relationships with NYC Parks, CPF, and PfP staff to raise awareness of the corporate program; give presentations and updates as needed
- Manage communication and maintain relationships with corporate partners once a gift has been pledged and ensure projects and engagement events are successfully executed
- Identify sites, oversee budgets, order supplies, and manage logistics, tracking, and evaluation of corporate service projects
- Serve as a project leader and key support staff at It’s My Park (IMP) events with corporate partners; supervise, motivate, and provide hands-on guidance with volunteers during planting and painting projects, along with park cleanups
- In collaboration with the Corporate Partnerships Associate, contribute to program promotion and corporate partner recognition through website and social media posts and marketing materials
- Manage corporate program reporting including tracking and synthesizing data and producing internal and external reports; support coordinators to track necessary information in Salesforce and elsewhere as needed
- In close coordination with PfP program directors and CPF Corporate Partnerships team and other relevant Development team members develop ways of connecting corporate engagement to other PfP resources and community partners including community-corporate volunteer days and grantmaking opportunities
- Support special events, workshops, and other Partnerships for Parks initiatives as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five years of experience in volunteer and program management
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Strong supervisory skills
- Excellent project management skills including meticulous attention to detail and process, thoroughness, and task focus while managing multiple tasks under pressure and within firm deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional research, organizational, and oral and written communications skills
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
- Highly collaborative, motivated, resilient, flexible, and proactive
- Ability to work independently with high degree of initiative, organization, and follow-through
- Comfortable dealing with financial, confidential, and sensitive information
- Ability to work with diverse constituencies, both internal and external to CPF and NYC Parks
- Willingness to work outdoors, year-round, in sometimes uncomfortable weather conditions
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Salesforce or other CRM system is a plus
- Experience in horticulture and parks maintenance a plus but not required
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and able to drive in New York City
- Familiarity with New York City and it’s geography
- Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and on special projects and priority programs as needed
