Focus will be on HELOC! Seeking experience in representing and selling HELOC. Preference given to candidates who have worked with a Credit Union or Bank in a Loan Officer-type capacity.

Salary information: $40,000 plus performance-based incentivesPurpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.”The Senior Consumer Lending Representative is responsible for ensuring that the credit union maximizes lending and sales opportunities with members who complete an application for credit for a secured or unsecured retail loan, line of credit, or Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) with the credit union.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. * Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises:

- Consults with member applicants on a variety of retail lending and line of credit needs of moderate to high complexity.
- Actively follows up on loan applications originating through various channels of submission (phone, internet, in-branch interactions).
- Effectively builds trust and rapport with member applicants, as well as internal stakeholders who may refer member applicants, through consistent conveyance of the credit union’s core values and strong propensity to assist members in achieving their financial goals.
- Fosters a spirit of cooperation and collaboration with department members to ensure success of the entire lending team and is consistently aware of individual and departmental objectives.
- Reviews applications for completeness and follows established internal controls for processing and underwriting.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of the products and services offered by the credit union.
- Uses strong interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and engaging communication skills to understand member financial needs and financial goals; actively presents ancillary products and services that meet members’ needs and enhances their ability to meet their financial goals.
- Is fully familiar with and able to clearly communicate with internal and external members about: Underwriting philosophies, lending decisions (approved, denied, or conditioned), approval stipulations, loan products and services, credit bureau reports and scores, credit histories, applicable Federal regulations, Warranty coverage, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Debt Protection, loan and deposit rates, lending policies and procedures and our automated underwriting process.
- Educates member on the terms and conditions of their loan decision and ensures a clear understanding of the ancillary products the member may have selected.
- Sets up loan closing and follows established processes, procedures, protocols, and disclosure requirements to facilitate closing of the member’s loan or line of credit.
- Maintains positive and productive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills in all work activities.
- Demonstrates effective time management and prioritizes daily work to meet deadlines and goals; monitors work in process and adjusts as needed.
- Attend ongoing training as needed, including on and off-site workshops and webinars to maintain a high level of knowledge related to needs-based selling, lending, and compliance with various credit laws, regulations, and acts.
- Maintains current and appropriate licensing for the position.
- Adheres to the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), and any other state and federal regulations associated with the granting of credit to consumers.
- Complies with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
- The ability to travel overnight or to other business locations less than 10%.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. Provides guidance and assistance to more junior lenders on loan request that are complex in nature, requests for unsecured loans more than $5,000, or on requests for lines of credit.Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - College Degree or an additional 3 years of consumer lending work experience in lieu of degree
- 2 years specific consumer lending experience including cross selling of additional financial products and services
- An MLO#/License or the ability to acquire such within 6 months of becoming a SR Consumer Loan Representative
- A high level of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Prior experience and working knowledge of digital credit application software
PREFFERED Education and/or Experience:
- 2 years specific consumer lending experience in a Credit Union
- Prior experience and working knowledge of Symitar, Meridian Link
- 2 years specific underwriting and processing experience in a bank or credit union
Physical Job Requirements:Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed.
