Position Summary:
The Community Outreach, Alumni Relations, and Annual Giving Manager is responsible for the development and execution of alumni relations and giving, as well as WCC faculty and staff engagement and giving. The Manager also serves as a front-line fundraiser and community connector for the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations/Giving effort, supporting all areas of the WCC Foundation (WCCF) by building a major gift pipeline through the identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni relations/giving plan, with emphasis placed on opportunities to identify and cultivate alumni that are or likely will be major gift prospects in the future.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Faculty and Staff engagement and giving plan, with emphasis placed on increasing the number of donors through tailored events and initiatives, including the Faculty and Staff Open House and Staff Appreciation Breakfast, and other events as identified.
- Plan and execute all annual alumni engagement events.
- Assist the CPO with identifying and assisting in execution of alumni and community engagement opportunities for speaking engagements and meetings designed to further the mission and fundraising efforts of WCCF
- Strategically support events that showcase community connectivity.
- Develop and execute fundraising plans around Giving Tuesday, end of calendar year, and end of fiscal year.
- Meet regularly with CPO, Major Gifts Officer and Director of Advancement to ensure that initiatives are aligned with overall plans and needs of the Foundation as a whole.
- Manage one-on-one meeting schedule designed to meet metrics based on donor qualification, cultivation and solicitations
- Actively learn and use WCCF’s CRM (Raiser’s Edge) and assist in developing overall usage and input plan
- Attend and work Foundation events and programs as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Hours/Schedule:
Work schedule will typically be day-shift hours (8am-5pm) on campus, with occasional nights or weekends as required.This position is identified as Work from Home eligible one(1) day per week ( Monday or Friday), based on determination that essential duties can 1) be performed outside of the worksite, 2) be performed without access to equipment, material, and files located on campus, 3) be performed without face to face contact with supervisor, students or staff, and 4) be performed remotely with an overall neutral effect on students, co-workers, and the organization as a whole.Work Environment:
Travel mostly within Washtenaw County and surrounding areas.
Minimum Qualifications:Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Philanthropy, or Marketing or the equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in development, philanthropy, alumni relations, or advancement.
- Must demonstrate the aptitude to represent the WCC in a highly professional and effective manner.
- Ability to learn and execute the technological aspects of fundraising and communication.
- Previous successful experience working with fundraising systems and programs, including but not limited to integrated marketing systems and customer relationship systems.
- Must demonstrate aptitude to cultivate relationships with and solicit alumni and friends of the College
- Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team
- Must be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, while maintaining consistent and transparent communication with a team and leadership.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers and donors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with great attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated and self-starting.

- Ability to travel mostly within Washtenaw County and surrounding areas.

- Aptitude in work with databases, & Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in development, philanthropy, alumni relations, or advancement.
- Experience using a CRM such as Raiser’s Edge.
- Alumni association experience.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $58,563 – $64,419
Salary Comments:Current Washtenaw Community College Employees Salary is determined by BOT Policy 5005***An Administrative Group employee whose job has been reclassified or who is promoted to a new position shall have his/her salary set at the new salary range minimum or at 10% above current salary, whichever is greater. Starting rate/salary is determined based on education and work history listed on application.
