The incumbent will serve as an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases, with focus on the care and treatment of adult patients with infectious diseases on medical and surgical services. This includes outpatient care, as well as inpatient attending responsibilities for the division (on inpatient units at UHealth and/or Jackson Memorial Hospital). He/she will be involved with medical student, resident, and fellow education. He/she may be asked to lead an educational or administrative project within the division or to participate in research programs within the division.CORE JOB FUNCTIONSActive clinical practice in both outpatient and inpatient settingsParticipation in the advancement and education of medical students, residents, and fellowsMaintain flexibility in division clinical duty schedulingParticipation in quality improvement activitiesParticipation in hospital and/or university committee workParticipation in academic research in the field of Infectious DiseasesProvide leadership for academic projects in education, quality and safety or division/departmental administrationUHealth – University of Miami Health System powered by the groundbreaking research of the University of Miami Leonard M. Thus, the incumbent will be expected to participate in didactic teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as attending and actively participating in seminars and other educational lectures. Teaching also includes participating in the supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows who are involved in direct patient care.
