Title of the Job: Metallurgist

Location: Pittsboro, IN

Job Description: Division: Steel Dynamics Overview:Work with the Sales team, Operations and Customers to provide solution to technical and metallurgical issues. Responsibilities:

• Review incoming specs and customer inquiries to ensure excellent performance of engineered steel bar products in each end use.
• Work with operations to improve quality performance, cost, and yield of existing products
• Work with customers to develop new products and capabilities
• Work with operations to share customer preferences, industry benchmarks, metallurgical training, and state of the market.
• Support customer visits and tours at the mill as well as participating in visits to customer facilities and industry events

Qualifications:

• Some travel required to support customer and industry event visits
• BS Materials Science or Metallurgy
• 5 plus years experience in SBQ or similar field
