Job Description: Meta RL team is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industry, as well as Personal Communication and Social Connections via our game-changing Portal products. As a Color, Material, and Finish Designer on the RL Industrial Design team, you bring extensive knowledge of industry trends, forecasting, color development and management, and have the technical knowledge to translate a creative vision into production-ready materials and processes. Your insights, creative input, and development efforts will help guide the unique style and distinctive look of our brand.​Color, Material, Finish Designer ResponsibilitiesSupport the industrial design team through implementation of material design specificationsEstablish and maintain quality standards and consistency across a portfolio of materialsInterface with industry and manufacturing partners to research and develop proprietary material combinations and new production techniquesAssist in the resolution of design, prototyping and manufacturing issues during the development phaseCommunicate and resolve manufacturing and prototyping challenges​Manage and maintain CMF product specifications for products in development from concept to productionOccasional domestic and international travel is a requirement for this positionMinimum QualificationsBachelors of Industrial Design from an accredited college or university, or relevant professional experience required​5+ years’ experience working as a CMF DesignerProficiency in communicating design vision, and concepts using 2D color renderings and 3D CAD and visualization experienceEffective organization skills, detail oriented, and experience to lead multiple projects across categoriesEffective organization skills, detail oriented, and experience to lead multiple projects across categoriesWorking knowledge of plastic injection molding, metal fabrication techniques, resin development, coating technologies, plastics decoration processes, and textilesPreferred Qualifications3D CAD and visualization experienceFor those who live in or expect to work from California if hired for this position, please click for additional information.LocationsAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
