Employment Type: Full-TimeJob Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Trademark Paralegal to join our client’s legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing the entire lifecycle of trademark prosecution and maintenance, both domestically and internationally. The Trademark Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and clients to provide support on various trademark matters, including trademark clearance, filings, and portfolio management.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and analyze trademark searches, including clearance and availability searches, using various databases.
- Prepare, file, and manage U.S. and foreign trademark applications, renewals, and assignments.
- Monitor and track trademark deadlines and manage docketing systems to ensure timely filings.
- Assist in managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, including maintaining and updating internal databases and client records.
- Prepare responses to office actions, oppositions, cancellations, and other proceedings before the USPTO and other trademark offices.
- Assist with trademark enforcement efforts, including cease and desist letters and anti-counterfeiting initiatives.
- Conduct preliminary research and investigations for potential trademark infringement.
- Coordinate with foreign counsel regarding trademark filings and disputes.
- Draft and review correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of an attorney.
- Stay updated on changes in trademark laws and procedures in key jurisdictions.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, organizing meetings, and maintaining client files.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Trademark Paralegal, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong knowledge of trademark laws, regulations, and procedures in the U.S. and internationally.
- Proficiency in trademark research databases and docketing systems (e.g., Saegis, USPTO TESS, WIPO, etc.).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing international trademark portfolios.
- Familiarity with intellectual property management software.
