By implementing effective strategies to mitigate risks, empower clubs and players, and strengthen relationships, we are dedicated to driving the growth of the league.Engagement & Inclusion: The goal of the MLS Engagement & Inclusion department is to create the most inclusive workplace in Sports.Located at the League Office Headquarters in New York City, the Summer Intern Program is a 10-week program that runs from June 3rd-August 5th. Interns will be a part of an inclusive culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration, values diversity and promotes creativity.Responsibilities:Support the Community Engagement Department with:
- League initiatives related to access to soccer and youth enrichment efforts in the form of industry research and reporting as requested.
- Strategic partnerships projects as needed including research, program concepting, execution and recap reports.
- 2025 MLS All-Star community event planning & administration.
Assist the Player Engagement Department with:
- Administrative and operational support.
- Planning and execution of department events.
- Scheduling planning calls and assist with player and speaker outreach for events and programs.
Support the Engagement & Inclusion Department with:
- Data collection and creating presentations of Clubs participating in Engagement and Inclusion initiatives.
- Research of other Sports Leagues and propose recommendations for new Engagement and Inclusion initiatives at MLS.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate rising senior
- Recent college graduate
- Currently enrolled in a post-graduate program
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
- High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Must commit to attend full 10-week program
- Bilingual in Spanish or French a plus
