We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, autonomy, supply chain optimization, machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems.We are seeking a talented and solutions-oriented Reality Capture BIM Engineer to contribute to delivering transformational innovation to the business. As a reality capture BIM Engineer, you will work closely with field engineers and cross-functional teams to improve the quality and productivity of automation deployment for Amazon’s fulfillment network.Amazon Robotics opportunities will either be based out of Seattle or Greater Boston Area. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.Key job responsibilities
This role includes the following responsibilities:
- Process 3D LiDAR scanning data
- Perform 3D modeling of physical facilities and equipment
- Analyze multi-layer engineering models for clash detection
- Maintain database of as-builts and 3D models
- Work with field engineers to develop standard operating procedures for use cases of reality capture for automation deployment
- Work with cross-functional deployment teams to deliver timely feedback on installation errors and clashes

- Competence in using Autodesk (Civil3D, Revit, ReCap, Navisworks and BIM360–preferred) or equivalent for complex models
- Experience working in 3D environments and familiarity with as-built conditions
- Experience processing point cloud data
- Industrial experience working with cross functional teams and field operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience programming in common computer languages including data processing, user interfaces, and statistical data analysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 50%
