Job Description: Class SummaryThe Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office is responsible for the prosecution of all State misdemeanor crimes in the State Court of Gwinnett County and all County ordinance violations, including traffic citations, in the Recorder’s Court of Gwinnett County. Misdemeanor crimes consist of any crime punishable by a maximum of one year in jail or less. This is an entry level Attorney class. This position will assist with case preparation and review; legal research, analysis, and document preparation; preparing, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents, offerings, and requests for information; participating in consultations; and responding to inquiries.The Grade for this position is 101.
Salary $85,000.00. Salary will be dependent upon education and experience.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate
  • One year of experience in a legal environment

Attorney II – AT12
This is a very broad, professional level class that represents all licensed attorneys from entry-level to the area expert. Incumbents may be required to supervise support staff.The Grade for this position is 102.
Salary $87,500.00. Salary will be dependent upon education and experience.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Two years of experience as an attorney
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Member in good standing with the Georgia Bar and admitted to practice in the Superior Courts of Georgia, The Court of Appeals for the State of Georgia and the Georgia Supreme Court, and other courts as necessary.

Attorney II – AT13
This is a very broad, professional level class that represents all licensed attorneys from entry-level to the area expert. Incumbents may be required to supervise support staff.The Grade for this position is 103.
Salary $90,000.00. Salary will be dependent upon education and experience.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Three years of experience as an attorney
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Member in good standing with the Georgia Bar and admitted to practice in the Superior Courts of Georgia, The Court of Appeals for the State of Georgia and the Georgia Supreme Court, and other courts as necessary.

Attorney II – AT14
This is a very broad, professional level class that represents all licensed attorneys from entry-level to the area expert. Incumbents may be required to supervise support staff.The Grade for this position is 104.
Salary 95,000.00. Salary will be dependent upon education and experienceMinimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Four years of experience as an attorney
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Member in good standing with the Georgia Bar and admitted to practice in the Superior Courts of Georgia, The Court of Appeals for the State of Georgia and the Georgia Supreme Court, and other courts as necessary.
