Title of the Job: Family Office Tax Analyst – Hedge Fund – NYC

Location: Manhattan, NY

Job Description: The Senior Accountant will report directly to the owner of the family office with a line to the Director. This role will include both tax and accounting while supporting high-net worth individuals with family owned hedge funds. The day to day will include working with individual family members – charitable work, family trusts, tax, maintain daily cash flows, preparing quarterly income summaries, and working with multiple service providers.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance

• Collaborate with tax advisors to implement tax-efficient strategies.
• Assist in the preparation and review of high-networth personal, trust, gift, and entity tax returns.
• Work with accounting professionals to help clients plan for quarterly estimated tax payments.

Reporting

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients and family office leadership.
• Consolidate family asset data, including performance analysis, benchmarking, and maintain online reporting platforms.
• Assist in processing documentation for account openings, asset transfers, and other transactions.

Estate Planning

• Partner with legal counsel and tax professionals to implement wealth transfer and asset protection strategies.
• Help develop and update estate plans to preserve family wealth and legacy, adjusting plans as necessary in response to changing tax laws.
• Assist with annual gifting strategies and the effective use of lifetime gift exemptions.

Philanthropy

• Support clients’ charitable initiatives by coordinating grant requests and fund disbursements for foundations.
• Prepare necessary forms such as the 990 PF, and manage accounting, tax, and payroll functions related to charitable giving.

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage third-party service providers, such as investment managers, accountants, and legal advisors.
• Assist in securing lending solutions, including credit lines and mortgages, from financial institutions.
• Provide efficient and accurate support to client teams, responding to client needs and inquiries promptly.
• Collaborate with the broader team to help expand and enhance family office services.

-2-4 years of experience in high-networth tax compliance, family office services, wealth management, tax advisory, or a similar role.
-Strong financial modeling and analysis skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts clearly.
-Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
