• Laborers perform manual tasks involving grounds maintenance, brush cutting and debris clean up.
• This position requires operating equipment over primitive, unpaved roads in a rural setting in all types of weather conditions.
• Work will involve surveying, re-surveying, and subdividing sections of the Public Land Survey System, including loading, unloading, and packing equipment and supplies.
• Performing minor repairs and maintenance of equipment and tools; operating chain saws and other power tools to clear brush and small trees along random survey lines.
• This can include digging holes for survey monuments, blazing, tagging, posting, and painting trees along a survey line to mark the true boundary line.
• Operating chain saws and other power tools to clear brush and trees along the trails; hiking long distances carrying hand tools and power tools; and performing minor repairs and maintenance of equipment/tools.
• Individuals should be capable of working alone, or with other people, during early morning hours, night, or during the day.

Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items may occasionally be lifted with assistance of lifting devices or other workers. May work on steep terrain covered slash and debris.Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside, often in the presence of dirt, dust, grease, and fumes. Assignments involve exposure to the possibility of scrapes, burns, cuts, bruises and infects. Workers may be exposed to bad weather.
